Animals in our sanctuary
Lino was ceded to the NHC Opglabbeek by his previous owner, because he was incredibly aggressive and regularly sprayed. This gives a huge smell and cannot be hardened.
Marlène was found in the dunes. The VOC Oostende temporarily caught the animal and brought it to De Zonnegloed so that it would get a hopeful life together with its peers.
Ava was transferred to a NHC by a private individual and ended up in De Zonnegloed. Now she can live with her peers and call De Zonnegloed her home.
Gerta was found in a private garage. She probably escaped somewhere, but her previous owner did not search for her. Because of this her history and age are unknown. Fortunately, she was able to come to us via SOS Wilde Dieren Geraardsbergen and can now enjoy a peaceful life together with the other skunks.
