Where does he feel most at home?

The Madagascar ground boa likes to live in the dry areas of South Madagascar.

What's his favourite food?

They like small mammals, birds and lizards. He mainly hunts on the ground at night. He grabs his prey and wraps his long body rapidly around the victim. Then he squeezes so hard that the prey can all breathe out, breathing in is no longer possible.

Fun fact

The scientific family name ‘Acrantophis’ is derived from a Greek word and means 'lazy snake'. The word ‘akrantos’ (????????) means 'lazy' or 'useless' and ‘ophis’ (????) means 'snake'. This remarkable name is probably due to the fact that the first-found specimen was rather listless.
