Where does it feel at home?
The Russian tortoise lives in the warm and dry regions of south-east Asia.
What does it like to eat?
Fruit, green plants, grasses and other plant parts are on the menu.
Fun fact:
The species name Horsfieldi is a tribute to the American naturalist Thomas Horsfield (1773-1859).
This turtle is the only one with only four nails on each leg.
